My current writings and film projects examine how memory projects like archaeological media, monuments, and memorials expand the state and community's power to develop, redevelop, control, and manage land. I have also written about realism and the environment in video game design; and the relationship between online self-actualization communities and the environmental uncertainties of contemporary capitalism. Currently, I am a 3rd year PhD student in Film and Digital Media at UC Santa Cruz. I am a graduate of Concordia University's English and Creative Writing program, and was a Marcus graduate fellow in Cinema Studies at San Francisco State University, where I earned my MA.
